1.Breathing Aparatus

  • Introduction
  • Hazardous atmosphere

  • Types of breathing aparatus

Duration : 1 day

Target : Any person in a confined space where breathing apparatus may be necessary, such as fire fighters or personal in a hazardous chemical environment.

Modules : 1 to 8

Description : Hazardous atmosphere, types of breathing apparatus, safety precautions, inspection, search and rescue.

Legislation : Occupational Health & Safety Act of 1993

Students : Minimum of 6 to a maximum of 15

Additional : Company to supply own BA SET for practical

2.Fire Fighting - Level One

  • Principles of fire fighting
  • Combustion of fire
  • Causes of fire
  • Types of fire
  • Spreading of fire
  • Extinguishers & other equipment
  • Fire techniques

Duration : 4 hours

Target : Fire response team member (all staff)

Modules : 1 to 9

Description : Fire Fighting, The Scene, Combustion, Types of Fires, Techniques etc

Legislation : Occupational Health & Safety Act of 1993

Students : Minimum of 5 to a maximum of 15

3.Fire Fighting - Level Two

  • The fire fighter
  • The scene
  • How to alert emergency services
  • Combustion of fire
  • Causes of fire
  • Types of fire
  • Spreading of fire
  • Extinguishers & other equipment
  • Fire hoses & couplings
  • Practical fire fighting
  • Fire prevention

Duration : 16 hours, 2 days

Target : Fire response team leaders (supervisors, formen)

Modules : 1 to 11

Description : Advanced, Combustion, Equipment, Prevention, Organization etc

Legislation : Occupational Health & Safety Act of 1993

Students : Minimum of 5 to a maximum of 15

Additional : The premises on which the training is given must be equipped with a fire hose system

4.Fire Fighting - Level Three

  • The fire fighter
  • The emergency scene
  • How to alert emergency services
  • Triangle of combustion
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Types of fire & extinguishing techniques
  • Safety protocols & procedures
  • Fire preventions & house keeping
  • Duties of a fire marshall
  • Ventilation
  • Automatic sprinkler systems
  • Breathing aparatus
  • Communications
  • Practical fire fighting

Duration : 24 hours, 3 days

Target : Fire Marshals (Supervisors, Foreman, Site Managers)

Modules : 1 to 14

Description : Duties and Protocols, Team Management, Ventilation Breathing App etc

Students : Minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10
